The engine block is arranged like an inverted Nebulon-B, with three thrusters on the base of the block, two above them, and one more above those two. The front prow is also split in an inverted V shape, presumably to increase space for mounting weapons, but the real reason remains unknown. ![]() This flaw was the very thin spire between the front part of the ship and the engine block, which could be bombarded by even fighter-scale ordinance, causing it to snap in half and vent most of the atmosphere, killing virtually the whole crew. The Nebulon B2 was originally created to make up for the major design flaw in the original EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate. The Nebulon B2-class frigate was a type of fairly small escort frigate utilized by the Imperial Navy, the Rebel Alliance in a few cases, and the Astragon Navy. ![]() ![]() A Nebulon B2, with a large forward hangar inherited from the original Nebulon-B. ![]()
